Will it work?Mar 06, 2010 You never know about these thinkgs - will it work? You only use it when you need it and hopefully we will never need it - so does it work? I don't know. But it is small and fits nicely on key chains, and everyone in the family now has one.
HOPE WE NEVER NEED ITJan 17, 2010 I ordered these unis because of their small size. The spring loaded mechanism for breaking the glass seems to work, but I declined to actually test it on my car windows. I am praying that if I actually need to use it, it will work. We had other units that were much larger and always wound up getting lost or misplaced in the car. This unit will always be there on the key ring. We just added a mini-light to the keyring for added precaution.
Inexpensive Safety ItemDec 11, 2009 This is a great inexpensive safety item that could save a life. We have two teenage drivers and I bought one for each. They will have it if they need it since it's on their key chain. Great item.
Life SaverOct 26, 2009 This is a very handy little gadget. I hope we never have to use it, but in case we do, we will be ready.
A potential lifesaverOct 08, 2009 I purchased four of these (I have three kids) after watching an episode of Mythbusters with my 16 year old. The show had them experimenting with cars driving off the road and into water. They were testing different scenarios by which to safely escape the vehicle alive. They determined that the only way to do it was to open the door or roll down the window immediately upon hitting the water. They mentioned that you could use an awl to break the window glass, or use a safety hammer (LifeHammer). This is a scaled down key ring version of that. When I saw this item on Amazon, I said to myself "Sold!" Peace of mind is a beautiful thing.
